A Salad A Day Keeps the Doctor Away

It's a healthy post today! After my first health post last week, I decided that I needed to make some more specific goals when it came to my health. Along with the best tea in the world, I knew I needed something more along the lines of what I was eating and how I could make more of an impact on my diet. After talking with a good friend at the gym about how she ate, it all started making sense; make a goal to eat one certain thing a day and then use moderation for the rest of the day.

My friend said that she has made a habit of eating one salad a day, and that, in turn, has reinforced her habits of eating lots of veggies and fruits, along with other good foods! She won't say no to a donut, but she'll balance it out with the rest of her diet during the day. I thought that was a super smart idea! So, here's a new addition to my goals: I will eat at least one salad, everyday.

What do you think? Do you have some rules when it comes to your diet? What works for you and what doesn't?

i finally got the yogi tea you recommended (plus several others), and i think it tastes pretty good. hopefully it is helping clean out me system too!!!

last night i made a crazy good kale salad (based on lovemaegan's recipe, with modifications). i decided the kale was the only part i didn't really like much, so next time i may omit it. HA!!! but the salad was easy to make. something like this:

shredded or grated carrot
1 apple, chopped
raspberries
red onion, sliced
cucumber, chopped
cherry tomatoes, chopped
avocado, sliced
italian dressing (i like newman's lite)
rice vinegar
sea salt if you want (i don't really need it)
nuts if you want (i didn't have any, but i think they would add a nice something something

deeelicious!!!!
