Vintage Norma Shearer

Norma Shearer was an actress in the early 1930's and was considered the First Lady of MGM for her work in Marie Antoinette, Romeo and Juliet, and the Divorcee. She played a number of wronged house-wife roles with flair and style, while she also played a large role in fashion. She collaborated with photographer George Hurrell for 10 years and has produced, what I think, some of the most amazing images ever. Learn more about her here.

Isn't she the epitome of gorgeous?

Norma has long been the subject of one of my biggest girl-crushes. Her performance in "The Women" alone... Divinity!

The third photo down on the left side (closeup photo) is actually Joan Crawford, a contemporary and rival or Norma's.
