Falling in Love...

With Mid-Century design. Had you fooled didn't I?! Well, no worries about the men in my life yet, let's just focus on design, shall we? Last week I made a stop by the thrift store just down the street from my house and found some beauties like these:

I was so in love that I wanted more and found some on Etsy.... Then I got distracted and did a bit of research. What I found was that Fred Press and Georges Briard (makers of my glasses) were quite popular glassware makers in the 1950's and 60's. I was super inspired by the bold graphic patterns and the colors! OMG, the colors (HELLO?! Gold and Turquoise?!) I ended up researching more design Mid Century Design and can I just say.... WOW.

Are you drooling yet? I am. It's amazing to me how much I've missed with Mid Century. Yes, I've been a fan of Mad Men and such, but I've never just looked at design that came out in that time. It's so simple and clean and.... wow. I'm totally amazed and I'm definitely a fan. Can you believe all of this started from a simple find at a thrift store. Sigh... If you follow me on Pinterest, you'll notice an overload of Mid-Century everything. I'm tempted to just make a board devoted to it. Uh oh... and now I'm going to be on there for another million hours sorting through my existing boards....

Is there anything you're addicted to lately?? Do share! I'd love to have more things to drool over....

i find it is a lot easier to love cats and inanimate objects more so than most people. lol!

and i love all you have pictured above.

if you get a chance, check out wright auctions. they have AMAZING auctions that feature design-y items, and much of it is mid-century fabulousness.

I love mid-century design! Even more so now that we moved into an 1950s home. I grew up with the Wassily chairs you have the print of (black and metal ones) and they were my favorite.
