Room Reveal... Again!

Last week, I revealed my dining area... And within a week, I've finished my guest room and got everything put together. Yes, in a week. It's amazing what you can do when you get really excited about projects. My goal was to use as much as I already had on hand, just to save some money. So, here's how you redecorate on the cheap. Like $19 cheap.

Here's what you see when you first walk into the room... Half a bed and a small reading chair. Mind you, I'm surely going to add a floor lamp and a side table for the chair, but that's a little project in the works.

This chair used to be in my living room. I adore this chair and couldn't stand to get rid of it. Thus, it's becoming a reading/relaxing chair. I picked it up at the DI thrift store for $15. The rug, I picked up at a yard sale for $15 as well.

As you'll notice, the art above the bed... is from this post. The bedding is stuff that I had before when this was my bed (I've had it since I was 12, just barely updated in February to a new mattress). I covered the box springs with a fitted yellow sheet, so they wouldn't show. The bedding is blue to offset the red in the rug. I didn't want the red to over power the room.

And the bed frame? Made from one of my favorite friends... Cinderblocks. Side tables were some left by my last room mate covered with plastic table cloths and heirloom linens. They need to be styled, but that's the easy part! The mirrors... repurposed closet doors. Yep. Took them off the closet and used them here instead.

Total cost of the room:
Rug: Yard Sale $15
Chair: Already had it (Paid $15 for it over a year ago)
Table Cloths: Honk's Dollar Store $2
Lamp: DI $2
Art: Made by Me Free
Cinderblocks: Left Behind by Sisters Free
Pillows and Bedding: Already Had It Free
Curtains: Left by Last Roomie Free

Total: $19

And there you have it! What do you think??

Hi Trissta! I found you via Thriftaholics Weekly. This room is absolutely amazing. I write a blog about thrifting (mainly for clothing) but I'm moving soon and trying to find inspiration from people like you who thrift for home goods. I'm so happy Ana featured you so that I could read your blog! I'm your newest follower :) Ally @ Fever Thrift
